Default D15 block/d16y7 head. PROBLEMS!!!

i'm working on putting a d16y7 head on a d15 block. The d16 cam gear has less teeth than the d15 so i switched them but the timing belt is still to short. the belt is for the d16 and i was wondering if the belts are a different length and if i can just take the crank gear off the d16 and put it on the d15's crank and put the d16 cam gear back on.

Use the y7 cam gear and y7 timing belt. I am doing the same thing and that is what I have read/been told.
