Default DIY: Change Your Fuel Fitler

THIS IS MORE OF A REMINDER THAN A DIY.

I was bored this morning at had some Honda Maintenance to do so I change my spark plugs and fuel filter.

Things you'll need:

Fuel Filter
Ratchet
Extension
10mm (Deep)
17mm (short)

Take the pressure out of the fuel system by loosening the fuel cap.

First loosen the 2 fuel lines (Red) carefully not to brake the lines with the 17mm.Put the "flow" line up so fuel doesn't leak.

The carefully bend any hoses your way and take out the 2 bracket bolts (Blue) with the 10mm.

Get open the new fuel filter and washers (4 in total).

Take off the clamping bracket via the 10mm bolt (Yellow). Dump the fuel from the old filter to the new filter if you're cheap like me.

Then install in reverse order using the new washers "BOLT-WASHER-LINE-WASHER".

I know a lot of people never change their fuel filter or spark plugs and I can tell you they will hold back your motor quite a bit performance wise and economy wise.

I've ran into problems using the copper rings they supply with new filters. Bastards leak! Usually just reused the stock silver colored ones.

Find a good way to hold the fuel filter if it's been a while, I've had them spin in the stock bracket (twists the lines up nicely too).

I have had success with flipping the copper washers over if they leak the first time.

relieve more pressure by cranking the car without the main relay plugged in, so you don't get sprayed with fuel removing the filter.
