Default GO-AUTOWORKS Oil Line kit install/walk through

Here is a quick walk through, step by step install of one of our GO-AUTOWORKS Oil Line kits on a Honda turbo application.

For starters here's the kit:
Included for the feed is the -3AN Goodrich oil feed line, -3AN straight and 90 degree 1/8 NPt adaptor fittings, 1/8 BSPT to NPT adaptor and block adaptor T.
On the return side are the flange, 1/2 to -10AN fitting, 2 10AN hose fittings, the 10AN hose and an oil pan weld bung (either steel or aluminum)

Starting on the drain side. You'll want to look at your setup and turbo location and find a suitable point to drill your oil pan for the oil return bung install.
The motor being used here is a K Series, so the drain is at the rear. We chose to put the drain above the oil drain bung (D Series drains will be on the front and has a lot more option as far as location goes).

Remove the pan and prep the area, you'll need the welding area to be as clean as possible, both inside and out. When using a steel pan, you'll want to remove the coating and get it down to the bare metal in the welding area.

Drill the desired spot

Weld in the bung (or take it somewhere that can properly weld it in)

After this is done, clean and reinstall the pan.

You're now ready to run the return line. Bolt the supplied drain flange to the turbo using either the supplied gasket or Hondabond between the 2. Match the 1/2" to 10AN fitting to the flange using teflon paste or tape on the threads. Also install the 10AN hose end to the supplied hose.

Once this is done you can mark and cut the drain hose to connect the other end to the bung on the pan. The oil drain is now done.

For the feed line, you'll want to locate the oil pressure sending unit on the back of the block (generally it will be slightly above the oil filter). Unplug the single pin wire and remove the sensor with a 24MM socket or wrench.

Once removed, your ready to assemble the block adaptor and feed fittings that will attach to the block.

In order, starting at the block they will go:
-Silver Male BSPT to NPT fitting threads into the block
-The male end of the brass fitting threads into the female end of the BSPT adaptor
-The oil sending unit threads into the opposite end of the block adaptor
-The oil feed fitting for the turbo threads into the female side port of the T.
Assemble these using teflon paste or tape on the threads.

Here is a pic installed in a K motor for reference

Once this is tightened, your ready to connect the feed line (the feed fitting may need to go in last once the T is assembled, depending on clearance).

Turn the feed line to go in whichever direction best suits you.
( D Series reference)

K Series reference

Connect the other end of the feed line to the turbo, make sure the line has smooth bends and is out of the way of anything that may damage it. Tighten all the fittings and your finished.

Before starting the car, you'll want to disconnect the feed at the turbo and prime the oil system to get oil into the line. While doing this you can also hold the compressor nut of the turbo still to keep it from rotating (do with caution)

another option for priming is unplugging the distributor harness and cranking the motor over with the DRAIN disconnected at the pan. this will keep the motor from starting and you'll be sure your drain is working aswell.

awesome write up though, i vote sticky.
