Default Dimmer Issue

I have an 88 car, and I plugged my dimmer into a 91 switch to see what would happen. It smelled like burning and blew the fuze so I pulled it but now the dimmer switch dosnt work.

IS it the switch that needs replacing or is there a relay somewere?

relays dont usually smell burnt if they fail. switch is prolly done. check fuses properly (ie no visual inspections).

i would suspect the dimmer switch being bad. i had one go on a past crx and had an electric fire while driving at night. it sucked i had to unplug it and drive 3 hours with no dash lights.

Which of the wires going to the switch should have power, just So I can make sure its not in the wires before p[lugging a new switch in.

Anyone know how to convert to a 91 dimmer?
