Default noob gauge cluster

well, for starters all three of the cars i have questions about are '93 civic

first question, i have a lx and want to swap tachs from and si... i want to keep mine clean, and he wants a big ass tach because he's getting his revlimiter changed (b16 swap yada yada) and doesnt want two tachs, PERFECT! I get a clean one, and he gets (one) big honking one.. anywho my question about this is, will it be plug and play besides (the si) wiring up the after market tach?

second question i've got a friend with a ex hatch, and the speedo isn't working before pulling the dash off i'd just like to know if there are any common problems with speedo's not working?

thanks in advance! i promise i used the search function first, but i just want to be sure
