Question Head Unit Problem with CD Playback

Ok so this is driving me pretty crazy. I've swapped out my old aftermarket Pioneer deck (that came with my car) for a newer one. Also intalled a mono amp and single 12" sub. All of that seems to be wired up properly. I can hear the sub working while I'm on the "Tuner" source setting. Then I go to pop in a disc...and this happens. Driving me nuts. Power cuts in and out repeatedly, in the same patter. And yes it's indefinitely.

I posted it to youtube:

Any ideas? Anyone seen this before? I rechecked my wiring and it seems to be fine. I was worried one of my crimps was just done badly but I can't find anything.

The unit was working 100% previously when I had it running in a different car.
