Default D-series piston rings on the d17

anyone use or know about using any other d-series piston rings on a d17?

the d17 rings aren't cheap, and on other d-series the people use the same aftermarket rings for any aplication (d16z6, d16y8, d15, etc.).

I think we (d17) can use the d16y8 or other d-series rings on the d17...

i know people are putting D17 cranks in D16's so i cant see why not. the majority if not all B18's have an 81 mm bore factory. and 75mm for D16's. so assuming bore is the same , you could take a D17 crank pistons and rods , fire them in a D16 and get results. mini stroker , lol.

no i said the engines are the same bore , lol. which in theory means yes it will work. you must find out the stroke difference between the D17 and D16 though. just in case.

the stroke difference is 4.4mm, everybody knows that. but what about the rings, yes or not? wth have the stroke to do with the rings? the rings should be on the piston no matter what stroke it have...

i am asking if it fit and work fine on the d17 pistons.
