Default Exhaust

Does anyone know what the difference is between the EX exhaust and the LX/DX exhaust? All the websites specify different cat back systems for the EX than the LX/DX. There are different high flow cats for these also. I was just wondering if anyone knew what the specific difference is between the exhaust of the different 7th generation models. Thanks.

From what I know the dx/lx has the exhaust manifold/cat combo which means they are both one piece. Putting a header on either one of these models means you lose your cat causing the secondary O2 sensor to throw a CEL. The ex exhaust, I think, has the cat connecting to the manifold like all other civic models. I bought a header for my LX, eliminated the cat, ran a O2 sim and had a exhaust shop fab piping to connect the header and mid section pipe. As far as catback's I bought one specified for the lx model. Not sure if catback's are the same for all model's though.
