Default d17 goals/ intro

Hey there my first post here was a quick question about a deal that floated my way and I figured I'd double back and give a quick intro to me and my goals for my car seeing as I'm new here... and need to make it to 65 posts to see what all you fellas may be selling that could be useful lol

Anyways Im gonna try working with my first decent car. 01 ex everything is bone stock except for custom intake and stg2 clutch. Everything is also failing as I'm rearing that 175k mile mark. Originally I was going to rebuild with a k24/k20 set up but realised it was a bit pricey and didn't want to take out a loan for a maybe fail. Then I was planning on just selling this and taking a loan out for a rsxs. Wanted to fix a few things to get more money out of the em2 though. The oil is burning pretty bad, I'm guessing piston rings and realizing that its going to be an engine pull anyways there's the option of upgrading internals and boosting the crap out of it. So between sentiments for the first car and costs for what I want I decided to keep this for my first build.

What I'm going to be trying to accomplish is around 300 whp. And I plan to get this in steps. First one is this winter to tear down the engine and get it p&p and magnafluxed to see if its worth building on. If its bad prolly just replace whatever and sell. If its good build up the necessary internals, add header clutch flywheel whatever else would make sense to do while its all out and easily accessible. After that keep it as is and save up for the turbo project. Prolly stance between.

Like I said first build. For the most part I don't know exactly what I'm doing or what I need but I've been researching everything for about two years and feel confident enough to get to work. Excited to have a mean machine that I've basically built from the ground up.

Anyways that's about it. Hope to get some good help from everyone to get where I want to be and when I come to be knowledgeable shed light on others problems.

Good luck with everything and welcome to the addicition of car building. Just a word of advice if you are going to go turbo, dont wast your money on a head or other N/A stuff just save up for turbo parts and get Kpro. I was running a AEM F/IC for a year and just switched to Kpro and it is so way better with hardly any tunning on it.
