Lightbulb Maximum tire width on 7th Gen Civic?

HI! Well I'm new here to this forum. I was googling images of 7th Gen Civic's particularly the ES1's. I have one right now. It mos def needs a drop, thinking of the Drag DR-19 or DR-20's for wheels in maybe 14" or 15"s. I was wondering..what is the maximum width that our 7th Gen's can handle without messin' up the speed sensor and tire rub. I've seen people who can go to 215 easy, but they cut into their fender wells or as they say "rolled" their fender wells. I currently have Falken Sincera's 185/70/14. The guy that works at the tire shop said "putting 195's could create a bit of a tire rub on the fender wells, unless you're okay with that, we'll be glad to put them on" nobody wants an annoying tire rub LOL. So will it rub? thanks!

Well, it depends on many different factors (wheel size, wheel offset, camber angle), but I would say you could certainly fit 195's... the 215's would probably be pushing it.

Del Sols can fit 215's easily. Not sure on Civics...

i run acura TL type s wheels on my em2 , 17x8" rim. 42 offset if im not mistaken. 215/45/17. no problems at all. in fact im putting 235/40/17 on it this summer , lol. dont care if it rubs or not , 350 whp and 280wtq needs more than a 215 tire , lol. 215/45/17 on my civic mine as well be a 175/70/13 , haha.

I have 225/50/16 on a 16X7 rim. I will need to roll the fenders because the rear rubs a lot.

It is doable though.

It all starts with your drop. You can fit a 215 under there easily. You can prob fit a 225 in there if your not slammed without rolling your fenders.

couple of variables to consider, such as drop and rim size, and type of use.

I forget the width of my Rota 16" rims...i wanna say 16"x7" and i comfortably run 205/55 on mine. Rides and handles well along with Tein Coilovers.
