Default Dead bearings... tranny replacement

My tranny started shifting hard. When I checked the level of oil in it... there was none. Apparently my axle seals went or Jiffy Lube left something loose. From searching/reading its gonna be exspensive to rebuild. I refilled it but it still shifts very hard into every gear.

Its an 89 Si tranny. If I switch to a 90-91 do I need a new flywheel and clutch since its a different size, or is is just the spline count that matters? Main reason I also ask is I've got Raxle axles and don't want to switch them (why I'm not installing my buddy's 88 DX tranny and axles). The clutch and PP are still good.

Thanks for any suggestions.

the 89 and the 90 trannies both have the same spline count, 20. the difference is in the size of the clutch disk, the 89 is 200 and the 90-00 is 210mm.
