Its time bishes!!! I bought this car in 2003, started modding it 5 days later for about a year steady. I had a boosted B7 in mind then but i was a n00b and didnt know what i wanted. So i just started throwing parts at it, expecting it to pick up power....it did but not much
. Heres what i did all the way up to the point of the disappointing dyno session in 05': short ram intake, skunk2 intake manifold, aem fuel rail(dont know why...), a twice shaved head(one from over heating, the other being a n00b...3rd to 2nd @ 90mph's valve keepers hated me), 4-2-1 header, 2.25in exhaust w/ turbo muffler, 6.7Lb flywheel w/ xtd stage 1 clutch kit and synthetic fluids where applicable. All of that UNTUNED fury will net me and you: ![]() ![]() After that eye-stabbing session, i did nothing for about 2 years.....Ok, its been 2 years and i joined this great forum called D-series.org, you may have heard of it. After reading and reading and reading, i decided to stay N/a and do it without vtak . I got a Si tranny from a guy on vadriven and installed it the next couple of days....WOW, what an improvement. My car scoots along quite nicely now. I then found a guy selling a complete A6/Z6 in running condition he says, i says i dont care im gonna rebuild it. I sold the head for 40 clams....and thats how much i bought the WHOLE motor for!! So i heard about a great group of people called Xenocron.com. I bought a chipping kit for my p06, chipped it and tuned my B7. I havent gone to the dyno, but i will say that with it tuned feels like its in the 105-110whp range......You know what, enough of the story stuff...on with the pictures!! ![]() ![]() My motor now: D15B7 stock internally short ram intake 60mm Tb skunk2 intake mani aem fuel rail shaved head-- aprox. .005-.015 off accel H/O ignition bosch plug wires denso iridiums 4-2-1 header 2.25in exhaust w/ turbo oval muffler 6.7Lb flywheel xtd stage 1 clutch kit 95' Si tranny chipped and tuned p06 ecu The soon to be D16A6: (mods above plus...) Nah, those are the rods from the A6. Im buying a set of probe i-beams from Fj dist. What d15 rods, the B or B2/6/7/8? I may rebuild the B7 for a backup motor.

I just ordered my arp head studs, xenocron fuel pump and clutch kit w/flywheel! I wanted to order an oil pump from Fj, but they're on back order. And i cant get any word on how to go about buying the probe rods from them either. Sending out the cam to Exospeed in the morning, maybe, if usps is open on saturdays? Pictures to to come...

Its gonna be alright, gonna give the cylinders a quick hone and ridge reaming, as i can still see the cross-hatching very well. I've got my very close to a "tuned" basemap ready to go, just waiting to put it together.

Great prices and customer service over there. ![]() Look here: http://www.xenocron.com/eagle-rods-p-110.html My only grip about those tap and dies is they are too short to clean almost all of the bolt holes in the block....other than that minor inconvenience they work. on cheap tools, and the taps arent the best of quality.

ok, i got a problem. I test fitted the pistons onto the rods from what i just read.....and i have a concern. The pins slid into the rods, not very easily, but nonetheless they are able to be slid in and out. Now I just searched this combo (p29's and eagle esp rods) and found a thread on honda-tech asking the same thing--- http://www.honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2434162
I'm wondering about one of the options someone said, that you could take the rods/pistons/pins to a machine shop and have then "expand" the pins....anyone ever heard of this? My thoughts were to thread the 2 holes at the base of the pin location and screw in a set of allen head set-screws. Also, i thought about drilling dimples into the pins where the 2 holes are, so the set screws have a place to sit in so to speak.

You know I didn't even catch that when you talked about using Eagle Rods and P29s. I've never heard of expanding the pins, but that doesn't mean it can't be done. You could normally bush the rods, but I don't believe there's enough metal in the small end of those rods for that to work. The good new/bad news is those rods will work great with some sort of aftermarket forged unit. I don't know what's out there, but there must be something with a better design than the P29s. The other option is modified LS rods I suppose.
