Ok so I decided to post up a thread of my current build
A week ago (now almost 5 months) i was driving down the highway (jtb) if your from the florida area when i hit a huge dip in the road (under construction) like 4 in drop, well this caused the 4 way block oil fitting on the back of the motor to jolt and snap the straight fitting from the dummy light hole to the oil feed 4 way. So.... i drive home while unknowingly dumping oil out of the back of the motor all while starving my current turbo of oil. well to make a long story short the motor turned out to be fine internally however the threaded hole for the oil feed or stock oil pressure sensor would not stop leaking no matter what i tried so i decided to go ahead and put the f22 i planned on building in but after realizing i had almost everything i needed to build a sick lil d i decided to keep the f aside and build it like i wanted to before it goes in the car. This is my current daily until i sell my truck and get another honda, im thinking 93 da for a new daily and my other project car is a 1975 camaro with a built small block thats waiting on 2 turbos. so i pulled the d and tore it down this was all last week I waited 2 months just for Custom Length FJ R SPEC D16 I beam rods. I have a set of vitara stock bore 75mm pistons that a guy traded me for doing a little work on his car but i wound up going 20 over and running a 75.5 mm piston for optimal ptw clearance Im hoping for a faster revving motor due to lightweight and balanced rotating assembly Parts list so far. 1997 Honda civic Hx D16z6 swap dx tranz cast manifold (hand ported with dremel) xspower wastegate with tial 6 psi spring old 42 trim t3, new 57 t3/t4 greddy type s bov, hks sqv in box (may use hks down the road) zex 59300 z6 head skunk2 valves skunk2 retainers crower valve springs complete head refurbish new valve seals new valve guides gm 3bar map sensor msd pro cap msd blaster ss coil ngk wires ngk 6097 plugs street fire cdi ignition box (made by msd) Hondata s300 in p28 boomslang jumper harness hondata electronic boost control solenoid skunk2 dual bend short shifter skunk2 weighted knob cx racing intercooler intercooler spray bar 3 in downpipe em1 civic si guage cluster ebay charge pipe kit, welded clean comming soon o and a lil something something with a 10 lb bottle, more info soon and more im tired of typing on with the pics Last edited by D_Tuned; 05-26-2009 at 07:54 PM. |

I know some frown on street racing but its a big part of the Florida scene and they took away our local track a few years ago. we take trips to gainsville but when u live in a town where you can find some group of car people meeting just about every day of the week. people tend to see what there cars can do
anywho here are a few vids of my old setups http://videos.streetfire.net/video/D...s-2_203114.htm http://videos.streetfire.net/video/D...s-3_203330.htm http://videos.streetfire.net/video/D...s-4_203831.htm |

the old setup id guess around 220 when i turned it up to 10, maybe more maybe less, i never put it on a dyno i would just have a buddie drive while i street tuned it
i had always planned on finishing things up on a dyno but never got around to it The new setup im shooting for high 300's to low 400's on pump gas Last edited by D_Tuned; 01-26-2009 at 09:03 AM. |

looks good. I bought a Summit racing ignition a while back it works great and was alot cheaper than a 6al. sounds like you got alot of projects I hear ya on that I hate having to pick what toy to devote my time on.

Yeah that was the coolest thing. Although the old turbo gained a tad bit of shaft play the motor was completely beautiful where it mattered. I couldn't be happier with the condition of the crank.
I decided to go ahead and take the block to a mechanist to have it hot tanked and cleaned, ill go ahead and paint it a grey color or something i just cant bear looking at a dirty block on the stand any longer Then once the rods come in (or i find some replacements) ill have everything balanced and the crank journals will get a fresh polish |

Little update on the harness
Its come a long way alto im not shure if the pics show it, all de-tangled (you wouldn't believe how much honda intertwines the harness) and almost ready for mock-up on the motor. In a few pics you can see bundles of wire.. these are extra wires that will be removed.. you wouldn't believe how many wires im getting rid of. I may actually be able to get rid of one of the 2 big connectors on the drivers side shock tower completely. It was a pretty nice day out so i started the e-bay tuck as well and finished to an extent.. factory wires are hidden i still need to run a few of my own. I also mounted the msd box and wiped down the bay to clean it up a bit. I would really like to paint it with at least rattle can but im really not trying to take everything out to get it even. On with the pics! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
