Default 2nd time at the track in 5 years!

for anyone who remembers the build thread i created The long iraq warrior project we finally got some time to take it to the track.

last week we went out for the first time on the set up, did decent but not up to the cars full potential at all. best time last week was a 7.99, wasnt great at all, but atleast it broke into the 7's.

tonight we went again and changed a few things up. lowered the tire pressure from 10 psi to 7 psi to start out with and we were getting some good bogging off the line. i fixed the two step with -30 degrees of timing and 35% fuel (did well, will prob add some more fuel) and was able to build 15 psi off the line (16-17 psi peak under WOT) and then raised it a few hundred RPMS because of the bogging.

BUT our biggest problem was the ECT's, thankfully this time out i did some datalogging and saw that we were running 226* ECT!!!!! WTF!!!!. thankfully i saw that and did the manual fan override to 171* and that lowered it a TON and i didnt see it get back up over 190 the rest of the night.... whew (dont think it even hit 190 afterwards).

after fixing the problems and getting everything dialed in better, we went from the boarder of 8's to a 7.7... PROGRESS!! lol.

the quick set up:
poorman type r
gsr trans
open diff
stock axles
2200+ car
M&H 23x8x13 slicks
lenso lightweight racing wheels
7 psi in slicks
422hp 287 tq
2nd time at track in atleast 5 years!

the best run of the night:

two back to back runs with the same 60 ft, same ET and same speed.

the car has more in it, just need to get it dialed in better!!!!! i know if we keep at it we can hit low 7's. sadly we wont be able to get there before the competition here on the 30th, but its okay... we are making progress!
