Do the bulbs have a DOT "stamp" on them? If so, you can tell the cops to go to hell. Reason being, if the a state inspector sees a DOT stamp on them, then they're 100% LEGAL. If the inspector passes your vehicle w/ those bulbs, you can tell the cop to piss off. Yes, I know that seems a little extreme and possible asshole-ish, but knowing your rights/laws > cop trying to be a douche.
Personally, that's too yellow IMO. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

looks good.... i ran these lights for some time and never had an issue with the boys in blue. I'm currently running regular bulbs though and will be switching back to hid's next week..... once you can see every blade of grass with those things, it's hard to go back.... plus you cant beat $45 shipped for a dual bulb hid kit. yeeeeaaaaaa budddy! hid lo-beam, halogen highs. just for inspection.

i have an update on these things...they are still shining like new, but thats not the update. i have been pulled over 3 times for running these in the last month. every time it happens, the convo goes like this...
cop: license and registration. me: no problem, why did you pull me over sir? cop: your yellow headlights are illegal. me: actually, they would only be illegal if they were red or blue. cop: no. headlights have to white, its the law me: the law actually doesnt specify a color they have to be, only colors they cannot be. ive verified this with my dad, who has been a police officer for 18 years. cop: ok, well hang on a second (goes to check me out in the system) 1 minute passes... cop:well, drive safe have a good day. the moral of the story is, these are legal to run, at least in ny. heres a link to the equipment law which i have printed and in the glove box. http://law.justia.com/newyork/codes/...t0375_375.html dont allow the police to profile you. if you are pulled over for this, it is not a legitimate stop, and you have the right to know under what legal grounds you have been stopped. if the cops cant site a law that you are breaking that gave them a reason to stop you, you are free to go and should make the police very aware that you know this. they are fishing and will nail you for other stuff if you let them get their foot in the door with these bs stops. good luck.
