How high up are you altitude wise because that will very much affect your time.

Match your tracks altitude above sea level to this table and apply the correction value to your ET/MPH.

None of the flamming is personal, no need for mangina's around here. You made some stupid mods, don't act all butt hurt, just admit it, you'll laugh at yourself later when you "know", and right now people here will help you make the right decisions man.
If you wanna improve your times, follow the suggestions that have been thrown out there: smaller wheels, 15" being a great size. You can get a performance tire with a stiffer sidewall for cornering, but the wieght is still down, which makes a HUGE difference in acceleration. The flywheel is too light (as has been said 150 times). Great for street racing, but on your stock engine, it's so light that it's hurting your launches. A higher HP motor can make up for it though, so it's up to you. I run a 12lb flywheel and I love it, I don't drag race, I prefer road racing, or "spirited driving". Short ram intakes don't make more power on civics. Some even LOSE power. If you go with a "whale penis" intake or a true cold air intake, you'll get some more power. Otherwise, put the stock airbox back in and use a K&N filter. Also, practice makes perfect. Don't get discouraged, not even by this thread, go out there and see what launch RPM works best, get your shifting down, etc etc. And again, no one here is trying to be a dick to you personally, we're all just assholes, especially the "gurus", so some ribbing is gonna happen. You said so yourself that it's slower than stock, you should have known we were gonna flame you, but theres also a lot of info, a lot of helpful info, in this thread. Think about it.

ok guys thanks. i do not have the stock air box on my car. it came with a short ram on ti when i bought it. the elevation of the track is about 600ft above sea level. i also lined up next to a 2000 civic ex black. with more mods then me and he ran a 16.7 which was .1 faster then me. he had a dc header, skunk 2 intake manifold, aem fuel pressure regulator and a high flow cat, full exhuast. im going to run the car tomarrow, weds with the steelies on it. we can then see what the beast runs haha thanks for your words of wisdom

take the rims off and put the stock rims on the front when you race at 22psi...get the car to hook up... i know those cars are heavy but i know single cams are the shit... hell i know ive said this a million times.. but i ran a 15.15 with a d16z6 in a light eg hatch intake exhaust is all i had..
how quick are you shifting? do your revs fall alot when you shift.. do you powershift.. everything in racing goes with the other.. i.e. if you have bad times.. it could be from spinning the tires too much.. or shifting too slow.... the car can be made quick... dont modify an aem intake.. they are tested from factory and when they are sent they are made to make the most hp.. but you really need to take the flywheel off and put a stocker or a 12 pound if you have to have it.. it wont make much of a diference but it will help you get off the line better.. believe it or not save your money.. start doing some research on your motor... there is plenty of people on here with your exact same car and motor running good times... its not hard.. just search and buy parts that compliment each other and it will get quick trust me just take your time and learn your car

Edit: You almost had me? You never had me - you never had your car... Granny shiftin' not double clutchin' like you should. You're lucky that hundred shot of NOS didn't blow the welds on the intake! Now me and the mad scientist gotta rip apart the block, and replace the piston rings you fried. Last edited by krychek57; 09-04-2007 at 05:24 PM. |

it was supposed to be a joke...fast and furious? Seen it? That's what made all the rice boyz run out and put wings on their civics and drive their automatic cars in 1st or low gear...with a gangster lean...
Also, when i couldn't launch well, I wouldn't go when the tree went green. I launched when I wanted to. Your timeslips will look kinda silly, and you won't win bracket racing, but you won't have all the pressure on you to go, so you can work on your launch. Once you have that down, you can work on the tree. |

op.. its up to you.. if you want to boost it or stay all motor... all on what you want.. for boost.. you probably will spend 1000-1600 on a good reliable setup that will bring you down to 14's- 13's depending on how you drive... to reach that time all motor.. your gonna be spending more then 2k.. but like i said its all in what YOU want with your car.. and how "fast" it has to be at the track to make you happy good luck
