Hi guys i have a 97 honda civic ex. Ok my problem is that my battery on my car have not been charging, i been going threw battries like i put gas in my car, i went threw 4 battries in the past 3 months and 1 altenator. I thought my sound system was messing thing up but i took everything out. People keep telling me that something staying on but thats not it because if i get my car jumped the after i drive then cut the car off, right after i cut the car off the car won't start up the battery is dead.Or if i get a new battery it last for like 2 day then die again. I'm thinking it some wire that is messed up.I check all my battery cables and make sure everything is tight. The car was working fine like 7 months ago and i know the car was sitting for a while, but i don't know what the hell is going on. I had a shop try to fix it and they told me it was fix but it wasn't. i have know idea what is going on help me please.

I think you need to get friendly with a voltmeter . . . You can systematically check things to mark off the list.
What happened after you put in a new alternator? Check the back output and make sure it is the constant 13-14 volt range. Quote:
Also, check your wiring in the back and make sure you removed everything you don't need that would create a draw on the electrical system.

ok, i just found my bug the other day.
check for resistance between the white charge wire coming off your ALT and the other end of the wire connecting to your under-hood fusebox. Odds are that the wire is coroded/fried/rusted a the ALT side. I recently replaced the wire with a 8Ga replacement, and all electrical problems have been eliminated =) hope it helps! FYI. If you put another stereo back in, replace that charge wire with 6Ga wire, and also replace the wire from your fusebox (ELD) and the battery with a 6Ga as well.
