I *may* have a buyer lined up for my EG EX coupe, and if it goes thru I'll be looking for a replacement for my car only in an EK chassis. Regardless of whether I get an EX or Si, either way I'll be looking to do a motor swap in the EK right away probably B18C, B20Vtec, something (hate B16s). Since the car I have now is an EX, I want to get something with all the same options- all power shit, sunroof, etc... I know both the EK EX and 99-00 Si both have all that kindof stuff, but other than the driveline, are there any other differences in options between the two? I'm assuming springs/struts are a little firmer on the Si which doesn't matter because all the stock shit will be ditched for aftermarket stuff either way, etc etc.
Anyone? Brakes/interior/etc?

Yea, Si's have a sweeter interior, they have rear disks (maybe bigger fronts, but i don't think so). Si's also have better(looking) gauge clusters and a nicer grill, overall i think Si's look better. They come with better wheels stock, it would make a B swap easier since it already has the right mounts, axles, and tranny. If you got an EX you would need to replace all that.

also , the si's have the lips.
but yeah , if your gonna swap a b anyway ,, your best bet would be to get the si ... you could sell the motor for a decent amount of cash , and keep the tranny any anything else you need ..

In addition to the motor swap I'm also kinda leaning towards the ITR/CTR 5-lug swap for various reasons so I guess stock EX vs Si suspension wouldn't really matter either.
Ok, so the Si interior and gauges are sweeter, painted side skirts/etc, I wouldn't really have any use for the stock Si wheels since street wheels would probably be some kind of 17"s and stockers generally don't make for good track rims, don't really have any use for the stock Si 13mm rear sway, the car would end up with rear disc brakes either way from the ITR/CTR suspension swap... Si's have firmer seats? I wasn't aware of that but definitely a nice feature Insurance costs a big difference between EX/Si? what else? |
