well i was looking through the links in the s2k filter thread and i found a part number for a mitsubishi oil filter.. so i took some pics of the new honda filter, the older honda filter and the new mitsubishi filter
estimated volumes of each filter... new honda filter = est. 299719mm3 older honda = est. 402176mm3 mitsu filter = est. 520378mm3 the mitsu filter has 23% more volume than the older honda filter (or s2k filter) and has almost twice the volume of the new honda filter. ![]() im doing a refresh on my head as we speak, so ill have some more pics up soon.. happy motoring!

dammit it sucks to get no replys, especially when you ask for feedback...
![]() ![]() but i had a busy day today... got the head 90% ported. im not happy with the consistency of the surfaces on the ports, but its damn close. id say maybe 1 more hr of sanding drums should get me where i need to be. this is an example of what i wanted to elimiate. i didnt really want to "port" the head, just clean it up ![]() ![]() here we go, first progress shot ![]() ![]()

well i got some more work done on the head today, i found a quick way to get the valve seals off. instead of prying them off like i did before, i just used some pliers and yanked on em. worked very well.
i also refreshed the exhaust valve seats with some permatex valve grinding compound. heres the pics! enjoy. ![]() ![]() ![]() all valve seals removed ![]() put the compound on the exhaust valve seating face ![]() lube up the valve and slide er in. ![]() get your fire starter and spin away. i found that once u got any compound on the cup you had to clean it to get a good grip. dont push down too hard. when the compound runs out, lift the valve and spin it a little to spread the compound around again. then go back at it. ![]() all done! now to get the head decked and reassemble with the a6 cam!
