On all my old chevy's I would tighten the rocker until you stop hearing chatter then back it off a bit. Not sure if you can do that on honda's. Havent torn into a honda head yet.

bingo, and I've seen some back yard guy's go to zero lash and 1/4 turn on screw, and lock the nut down.

^ thats how i did my s-10's engine when i rebuilt it. No feeler gauges needed.

When i read it in the manual, i was like "wtf?" Seems like a sloppy way to do it, but it works.
