how do i convert p06 to p28 (nonvtec to vtec)... ive heard its possible, but has anyone done this and know of a good write-up... pics? anything?

or u can buy a obd0 to obd1 conversion harness and save alot of time
check on rywire thats were i got mine its a real simple install

thing is, ive already got the chipped p06... all i need is vtec cuz im doing a d15b swap... and instead of buying a p28 to add to my collection of ecus, id like to just make this one so i can use it...

done it plenty of times. Running a P06 in my coupe with d16z6/turbo.

you need to find out if it has an 11F0 or 1720 board. 11F0 is easy, 1720 is a bit more involved. It would probably be best to send it out for the conversion if you are not solder inclined. De-soldering is the hard part.

pgmfi.org has a great wealth of info as well. Read the wiki!

OBD0 has nothing to do with a P06. Not even a related comment. A P06 is OBDI so is a P28. They are the same exact board, you just add the VTEC components.I convert them all the time. Actually I am converting one tonight. www.pgmfi.org

The 11f0 is easy but how do you get the vtec pressure switch to work also. Do you add another 515 x high side switch right next to ic14? So then there would be 2 515 x high side switch, one in ic14 and the other to the right of it.

P.S I just want to know because i'm going to try bbka's bin and does anyone know if he had a 1.7 bin?

You don need anything other than what is listed to get it all work. go to www.xenocron.com and you can get the 1.7 bbka map I would suggest using Crome insted of Uberdata though.

Nope, only one 5151 required, just make sure its a 5151 and not a 5050(5050's cause CEL after vtec engage). Vtec pressure should work right if the blue wire on the switch is hooked to pin d6 and the black to ground.

5050 work on 92-93 '1720 board' ECUs just fine

they will not work in the 94-95 11F0 board types

5151 will work in 1720, 11F0 or 1980 board types, just FYI

im running a p05 ecu in my z6 turbo its the 1720 board...its not that much harder then the 11fo wich is easy but with some soldering skills AND patience and read the instructions provided by xenocron its an easy task..

i got both of my p05 to vtec 11f0 and 1720 from chris... couldnt ask for anything more instructions make everything easy... the only hard part is finding some of the locations on the board other than that its cake

1st, im sure you could probably piece together the kit but it would be way easier to just buy the kit... and yes im 99% sure you have to chip the ecu cuz to my knowledge, the non vtec board doesnt have built in maps for vtec... xenocron.com has vtec and chipping combos you can buy
