Default info on D15A??

ok guys iam buying a crx from some guy for really cheap!! he says the car has a d15a in it!! i have never heard of this motor!! i was wanderin if you guys could gimme some more info on the d15a like hp...tq....and are they good for modifications? if this motor is crap then i plan on swapping a d16z6 and some boost to go with it!!!

Well one site list the D15A being in a 88-91 CRX DX. But I just sold my DX and the block read D15B.

I don't know and I don't care because I just sold it. But the day I sold it I cleaned off of the block to see the engine code and that's what it read. There wasn't number after the B just D15B.

i think the d15a is 1st gen crx/3rd gen civic SI's

correct foooker that is the right answer, it is the 86-87 si motor 12 valve fi sohc..it is the workhorse of the d-series i have been shooting a 50+ shoot of wet on this 230,000+motor it finally blew two weeks ago but it was fun wall it lasted..so now it is time too rebuild ..strong faster and better....6 million dollor crx great motor diffantly was the right way too start the legand of the crx
