Default Carbon Build Up

Is there really a chemical out there that dissolve carbon build up. I used the acetone/atf fluid, seafoam and diesel to try to clean carbon build up...None did anything when submersed.. Does it need to have heat to work, like a seafoam treatment or something? I see all those ads where they clear all that carbon build up, like the ones with valve comparisons, you know the one from shell...but shit, I have first hand experience with "chemical treatments" just doesnt work....easy off works, but leaves metal all black and tarnished, if left too long...

Berryman's Chem Dip.

What are you trying to clean?

There is only one chemical that LOVES carbon, it is NASTY as well.

Quote:
Berryman's B9 Chem Dip
Because of the chemical make up of this product, which contains Methylene Chloride and Cresylic Acid, disposal must conform to the rules of your community for proper disposal of Hazardous Waste. To prolong this disposal and reduce the amount of chemical, several of our customers use the spent product as a "pre-rinse" to use before dipping into a new bucket of Chem Dip. This allows the part to soak up a little of the spent solvent, which pre-softens some of the residual material on the part.

Proper storage of Chem Dip is also a very important situation. Because of the high Di-electric chemistry, some discharge "electrolysis" may result from storing directly on concrete or on a metal rack staged on concrete.

carb cleaner... take a while... spray on and leave it. come back 30 min spray again. the carbon bond to the metal breaks down the the carbon flacks off.

or a wire brush but be carful with that...

i dunno, just curious because i couldn't get the carbon out from the valves and the pistons...i thought seafoam was suppose to be strong stuff...so i figured there was really nothing out there besides a chem dip or something...

I used the cheap $1/bottle of degreaser from the Dollar Store. Let it sit for about half hour, and hit it with boiling hot sink/faucet water, and it took the carbon off of my 120k mile y7 head.
