DIY: Cheap camera mount - D-series.org

Things you'll need:
1" PVC Pipe, about 2 feet long
A screw that can fit in the bottom of your camera
Drill
Head rest

Drill two holes for the head rest. Make it a little tight so it doesn't shake around.

Then you'll probably want to slide the headrest back into the seat so you can get the hole for your camera lined up strait. I had to do it a few times.

End result is something like this.

The pipe and screws cost $2.17
I've used it for about 30 minutes so far and it's pretty steady.
This is just a starting guide, if you change something or have a differant idea post it up.

JABO LORD HELMET!

This is sweet enough that I actually might do it.

Actually I wish I had this idea a year ago. The motor mounts in the old car shook the camera too much when mounted on the seat and half the audio was the lens cover rattling inside the thing.

I did the same thing but my camera kept zooming in during tight turns. I'll see if I can upload some video from the track Friday.

It's long enough for the one. I take my seats out when I race because I need all the help I can get.

I did the same thing in my E46M3. The video was unsettled as the seat move around alot more than you might think. Did it work out for you?

i have a giant pump suction camera mount. im still trying to decide if i have the balls to put it on the outside of my car, the next video i make will include multiple angles, outside the car is one.
