I have a 4 speed from an STD and the gear set and fd from an Si cable trans. What am I going to need to make the 4 speed a 5 speed, basically an Si trans in a 4spd case?

once you've seen both side by side, it's easy to see the differences.

Probably couldn't fit an LSD in it?

You can, but you don't wanna know the prices.

OPM modified stock diff for road racing is $750, the LAST Quaife 35mm LSD in the USA you might have to pay $1200+ for it.

So you're saying that if I had a good 4sp, and the hopefully good internals of a 5sp that blew up the differential and cracked the case, I'd have a decent shot at making a working 5sp???

why not just get a 5 speed and save yourself the hassle??? you can find them real cheap.

well, I can't really answer that in any intelligent way. Especially since i've got at least 2 5spd's sitting around. Idk I think it's mostly that i have the parts, and if i pu them together and into a car, then they aren't taking up space in the garage any more. That and I tend to go through transmissions kinda quickly, so spares are always good. Really I'm just curious if I could do it
