D16z6 With D16Y8 Head???

D16z6 with an Y8 head ? What do you guyz Think of this,Is it a good idea?

why not just the z6 head?

Because the z6 Head.....My cam Screwed up my buddy forgot to tight some bolts.So the cam GRINDED the inner part of were it sits on.and now i have an y8 head for free almost new.so i wanted to know if it was a compatible thing?

PM bigtuna, I have a D16Z6 and I have a spare head for it and a spare y8 head. When I told tuna I was going to do my headgasket he suggested I go with the y8 head instead of the Z6 and I mill it and bump the compression up a good bit for a N/A setup. You'll have to talk to him more for the specifics, I actually have to PM him and get more details too.

It's always be argued that the y8 head is better, but the z6 block is better. Makes sense I suppose... Good luck, I think it's been done, check out the engine building section, theres probably something in the first 20-30 pages of threads...
