people say that you can cheap out on rotors...it's the pad that's important. i finally got some hawk hps pads...and now i'm shopping for rotors...
are these the "autozone-special" rotors that i can buy instead of the brembo blanks?

carpart.com has Brembo blanks for low prices, not quite AS cheap as that, but if you like warped rotors, go with the cheap ones. They are so good at warping, you'll create your own black hole and travel faster than the speed of light.

Yeah but if hit the right warp a time warp you could go back in time before you warped them and everything would be OK:noway:

i have a set of the autozone rotors with hawk hp+ pads have had them on for a year with heavy driving and still no warpage so it all about how much money you can spend remember at the end of the day you can probably buy 2 sets of autozone rotors and still be chaper than one set of brembo blanks. just my .02

For daily driving they should be fine just break them in right.

Screw autozone and they're chinese made crap. Save your money and shop for something made elsewhere. Just my .02

I think it's Autozone Gold or something that you should go for. They still warp/crack but they have a warranty so you get a new rotor for free every time it happens.

Autozone doesnt sell Duralast Gold rotors.. atleast not the one I work at. They only sell Valucraft ~20-30 with 1 year warranty per rotor and Duralast ~35-45 with 2 year warranty..

Durajunk!!!!!!
Mine lasted 3 weeks on the bigger Teg brake setup.....they didn't wanna give me my money back, until I showed a reciept from local Honda dealership that tried to turn them on car, then turned my OEM units to perfection.

not a response to the OP, but...
Brembo slotted and Brembo sport pads.
best brake combo i've had yet on this car in 9 years.

I must say that the Brembo ones are the best.. Not expensive either. I paid cost for my cross drilled and slotted rotors.. $60 for the front pair. Pep Boys Lifetime pads. Lasted more than 3 years... I will do it again

Thus was for the better rotors, it was during the time AZ was switching from Brembo to China suppliers.
BTW, Stock 4 door LX brakes surprised me last night, perfectly modulatilbe (sp) in threshold breaking.
The Dish TV guy shit a brick, I had to pitch the car 60 degrees left to avoid, but no contact.

impressive :TU:
I have found that it is either hit or miss with those rotors. Either you're bringing them back next week, or you're keeping them until atleast your warranty is up...
