what do i actually need?

ok so i am about to get the last part of my build which is my engine managment. but i am trying to understand exactly what i need. i was going to go with the moates ostrich but after reading i think all i actually need will be a usb datalogging cable. i will be getting the lc-1 wideband o2 aswell. but if i get the datalogging cable and the wideband and plug that shit into my lap top i should be set right? no need for the ostrich casue i have my lap top.... or no? i have been reading like mad man but i just confused myself. this will be for my turbo build. its for a 93 civic with the z6. any more info u guys need just ask.

ok i have been through all that good stuff. i am just kinda confused. what exactly does ostrich do? if i have the usb datalogging cable and i plug that into my computer then can i not just transfer my bin to the ecu that way? of is the ostrich what converts the information from my pc into what the ecu can understand? i was originally going to go with tuner package # 3 but wasnt sure if i needed the ostrich. i thought it was a stand alone unit?

datalogging is only getting info from the ecu. ostrich or a chip burner write info for the ecu to go off of.
