My friend just replaced his turbo kit with a larger turbo. The configuration of the setup had the oil return fitting on the oil pan placed close to the timing belt side of the oil pan. That was fine - short hose and a nearly direct shot from the turbo. Now, his new turbo configuration would ideally place the fitting someplace between the #2 and #3 cylinders. The place that installed the turbo used the old fitting that is way over toward the timing belt side of the pan. It now has a hose that is bent to route over to that fitting. The bends are pretty smooth and aren't kinked up.
Do you foresee any problems with this? It's a daily driver for now, but he wants to do a little road racing for weekend fun.

Thats actualy a pretty big problem...That line is a vital part of any turbocharger...You dont want any kinks or bends, and you dont want it too bent to the point the oil flow will get obstructed by the curve...have pictures?

Nope. No pictures.
I do know that the oil feed line to the turbo is pretty small. My guess is that is how they keep the oil pressure low. However, the oil line going to the pan is HUGE in comparison. It's probably 5 times the diameter of the oil in line.
The out line isn't kinked. The hose is actually some preformed stuff - I have no idea where it came from but the turbo installers had it laying around and were able to use it. The bends are pretty smooth.
I'm going to try to convince him to get a different pan and put the fitting in a more appropriate place. It's hard to come up with a good reason WHY since I can't really see any way the oil is going to be obstucted enough to make oil flow stop.

even a slight u shaped bend will obstruct flow by collecting more oil in the middle of the bend...
