Hey guys.
I own a 1992 dual carbed :):) Honda Integra, 2door Manual.
Im pretty shure its a d15b motor in there.
Everyone in nz is ditching the carbed ones and getting the vtec ones as they are too scared to mod a carbed motor.
Well i want to be the different one here in NZ :) i want to be original!
Out local site (NZhondas.com) dosent really have much info on the carbed engines.
I want to make some power from this thing.
This is what i allready have:
RPS HCP Coated Extractors 4-2-1,
Ramflo's which arnt put on yet.
Full exhaust from extractors to some when i have more money
The car is also lowered and has some 16 inch light weight enkie RSIII wheels wrapped in yokohama DNA GP tires.
I dont have too much money to spend, but am willing to save up for parts that will get me decent performence!
Ive also heard that the honda dual carbed are really hard to tune, and here in Auckland New Zealand mechanics tend to not tune them properly or not even bother with tuning them and they send you off to another workshop.
So, what do u guys recommend for me to do for mods...
Cheers JohN

Dual 45mm webers.... The intake manifold will not be too easy to find. And if you do it will cost somewhere around $400US.. But its a great upgrade.. Also you can go to Bisimoto.com. He is the KING of carbs.

Hey guys.
Tried the spring mod today, the rest of my engine is fully stock and as said in that post that stock engines wont get much change.
Well i did it, and... the car feels ALOT smoother, itsa bit quiter also, throttle response has increased alot also, i like it alot, feels like i have more control now!
Next week i will be putting on some ramflo filters over the dual carbs.
Here is a pic of them :)
http://imajr.com/th/series400_103120.jpg (http://imajr.com/series400_103120)
Also while i did the spring mod i thought ill polish the alloy cups that go over them :)

So what do u guys think, what other mods can i do to this carb to make this honda faster :)
Also wanted to ask, apperently if i install those ramflos i should see a big difference in acceleration etc... as from what ive read carbs like alot of air :)
is this correct?

my 1988 4G civic had a very basic 4 into 1 header !!! so i swaped it out for a nice 4-2-1 !!!! the engine loved it !!! so i would try one !!
after you fit your new filters you might have to ajust the air fuel mix !!!!
as you might be running a bit lean !!! ,
you might find you dont have to !!! and the car runs like a dream !!!
let us know how you get on !!

"you might have to ajust the air fuel mix !!!!

How do i ritchen the mixture, would a air to fuel ratio gauge in my car help me find out if im running too rich or too lean? also i herd if you screw up tuning with the screws and stuff you can stuff up the whole setup of the car!
Can you maybe show me a diagramme of how to richen my mixture, ive allready done the carb spring mod, will this help to ritchen the mixture?
How will i know how to richen my mixture anyway?
Cheers and any help/ideas/tips will be appreciated!

this how to set the A/F mix !!! you wont need to do this , until you fit the new filters !! you might be ok , but with a free flow fiter on you will get more air !! so its worth haveing a look at , if the car dose not run to well after the fiter swap

Tip for you dual carb ppl, what I did with my '84 dual carbed 1.8 Prelude EX;
Remove your air filter assembly and those steel meshes from back of carbs, and replace them with velocity stacks made for Dellorto DHLA45 carbs. Those are almost direct fit, you only need to file screw holes about 1mm. Then put some PiperCross (or other similar) sock-type filters on them.
As for comparison, my Prelude with stock filter assembly barely revved +5500rpm, but with those velocity stacks it took 7k very easily and accelerated _much_ better. I used stacks 45mm long. Engine runs very lean after this mod, so I drilled stock 180 jets carefully with 2mm drill and it ran well.

ok, so from that quote(s) you are saying that a zc cam is a straight forward replacment and is as simple az taking old cam out and new cam in and i will see a increase in power? Is this correct?
