those stock f22b1 internals should actually hold really well at those boost levels. That is a stout bottom end.

Does the F22 bolt right up to the D16 tranny?

BLK92_D16
06-06-2007, 01:21 PM
^Nope, notice the "F2D" adaptor plate for the tranny/block...

Along that line though, how much more work it require to adapt the F to a B tranny? Just curious...

what ecu are you using? any special programs you're using because of the f22? axles? shift linkage? wiring harness? prelude mounts? this could be a very cheap swap for me since people practically throw away f-series around here.

im sure a f2d swap would be more difficult than your average swap, but what about a f22b1 swap? just straight f22b1 motor and trans. i cant find any info on it besides people saying dont do it, its not worth it and that its too expensive blah blah blah

so why is it so much better to use the d series tranny? will the f or h tranny not work with out mods to the shift linkage or something crazy? my local people told me it was not an easy swap in any way.

well the project has taken a little bit more time than i expected... ran into some money issues, but am back on track...

I bought a 95 coupe and put my minime into it for a dd... but because this project has taken some much time to finish... i got board and put a Jackson Racing supercharger on it... I will take some pics and keep you guys updated on the Turbo F22 build...

Just ordered a single pulley crank pulley(from bisi) and arp head studs... it is so hard to find parts for this motor.....

whats let on the project is to install the solid motor mount, plumb intercooler piping, weld bov flange, make the down pipe, make the dump tube, and tune this bad boy.... i just have to wait on the parts....

Kit for hydraulic based transmissions: $719.00

ouch , f series trannies are only $100 you can blow 7 tranies for the cost of a kit

or get the kit and not worry about blowing the trans. to each his own, i want to see the final result.

btw: where are you getting that number from? most places i have shopped at charge the same for d trans as they do for the f trans.

shoebox_civic

ouch , f series trannies are only $100 you can blow 7 tranies for the cost of a kit

f trannies have shitty gearing, and a whack linkage.

not to mention if you have a nice hybridized+LSD d trans you want to keep your investment useful

im also curious why u had to cut a huge hole for the crank pulley?F2D swap sit further to the drivers side then a normal H/F2B swap. its the reason why i ditched the F2D swap in favor of a F2B swap for my EJ6. the pulley above is the one bisi talks about for h/f2d swaps over on H-T.

i was not 100% if that was the one or not. it looked very very familiar. but since i have been sick lately, things are in a little bit of a fog....

is the pulley balanced? does he recommend it for street use? cause i would love to get one of those for my F2B, just to make it easier to swap belts and stuff.

ima call bisi today and talk to him about a few things. do you have to run ur aftermarket slave cylinder or you running it just because?you have to run a pull type for F2D swaps. the difference between the block and trans is way too much, imho. and an extended fork would be also be too much, imho.

what type of mounts are needed to run this motor in your car?

as far as i know, custom for H/F2D swaps. except the ED chassis. then again last time i said this, 40 mins later hasport annonced (sp?) the drop of the mounts for the ED on H-T.
