Well sorta. The turbo is on. All the oil lines are on, downpipe connected, injectors, guages, bov, etc. except a couple pipes to connect the turbo to the intercooler and then to the IM. I waiting in the mail for 2 couplers and a k&n filter.
SETUP:
hf manifold
BMC racing adapter plate
IHI RBH5 turbo
stealthmode oil line kit and restrictor
ebay intercooler
DSM bov
450cc injectors on stock ecu at 22psi
Overall the install was pretty easy. I did a lot of stuff before I installed the turbo to make the final, point of no return, install easier. Like gauges, oil feed blocked off, tapping another oil pan (even though I ended up not using it), mounting intercooler and mocking up piping. This took me a couple years to piece together the kit, but you have the money it could be done within a couple weeks really. the install could easily be done in a day with two people, if not by yourself. I'm super excited to finish this. It sucks cause I just started having problems with my burner or chip. so I need a good to see if its the chip or not.

Good stuff man! Its always easier if you take your time to get everything done right the first time. Can't wait to see the numbers. How much boost are you planning on running? Stock internals?

stock internals. well, I plan on only running 5 psi. I have no idea how much psi its going to push on stock exhaust and the wastegate slightly opened. or does that just increase lag??
More then likely it wont see a dyno. I'm not looking for any specific HP, just a low boost setup that reliable with a conservitive tune. Dont really car how much HP it makes.

My camera actually does take video, so I'll have to post a vid. Its suprisingly quite right now. cant really even tell theres a turbo on it.

i hear that!
when i threw my turbo on, my exhaust actually got quieter. go figure...

Way to stick to it through the two years of waiting! That's exactly what i have to deal with too. But in the mean time I get to gather all the research I'll need!
Looking real good and sleeper-ish... Ever though of covering the tubing with the factory tubing and air box?

turbochargers act as mufflers, thats why

I actually boosted it today! :-) :-) It has made lag which is fine with me cause I rather have mileage too, but theres really not to much power. I'm running super rich and pulling -1.0 per pound of boost. so I need to reburn a chip with like 105% correction maybe pull a little timing too.
It turned out my chip was bad. Using a SST now.
Also, with 450's at normal fuel pressure the best a/f ration in the driving area turned out to be the injectors adjusted to 390's ( from stock pm6). I'll post some pics of the final install tomorrow.

im glad to see ur boosted,
im almost there myself,
just waiting on a wideband,
but another d15 has been saved by boost!

Very nice welcome to boost.....once you go turbo you never go back!!!!

I dont think a video would to great right now. I need do something about the lag. thinking maybe a ebay cat/straight pipe. and def. lean out the map in boost cause the wb just says rich in boost. not really making any power.
oh yeah, I'll never go back, esp. seeing how I'm getting stock mileage with ability to haul ass when I want. and it's really not that complicated ethier, really no more maintenance.
are you only running 5psi?
that's probably why all the lag.
What kind of setup are you using to control boost?
you might want to consider running higher boost, like maybe 7psi,
that's still not anything crazy dangerous, but should spool and make noticeable power.

You've got a tiny baby turbo, you shouldn't have that much lag. Check all your couplers for leaks, and make sure the wastegate is fully closed at idle.

well, its just the stock wastegate which I believe is set at 7 or 8. But I did open the waste gate a bit to decrease spool a bit to get better mileage. I dunno if that decreases boost or just lag.
also I'm running a 2.75 intake tube to 2.25 pipes to a 2.5 front mount, to some stock dsm pipe and a small ass probe pipe............ plus stock exhaust.

it will increase lag

so then I should still be boost the stock 7-8psi? does the stock exhaust lower boost? or is the super rich mixture not allowing it to boost all the way?

if you dont ditch the cat youll end up clogging it sooner or later.
the cat alone is gonna kill your spool. go to a local muffler shop and have a 2.5" exhaust put on with either a cheap summit muffler, or an ebay one.
that should not only eliminate lag, but also give you some more hp with a more linear power band.

dam, I do need to get an exhaust for this thing.
I was driving it last night and it drives fine out of boost in normal driving conditions, but when I floor it, it acts like it doesn't want to go into boost. Like something holding it back. plus it wont even boost in first.
also I think the bov migh be leaking, because I think I can hear air being sucked through it at idle.
I'm going to tune my maps first and see if that does anything. then get a exhaust and see what happens. I'm pretty sure I dont have a boost leak other then possibly the bov.
