So, the weather has started get hot. The last couple days has found me stuck in stop and go traffic for extended period of times where the air temp is 85+.

The motor had been stable for months now, but after like an hour in those crappy conditions, the temp gauge had raised a little.

I'm thinking that I'd like to add some additional capacity to the cooling system. The motor is just a high comp D16Z6 (like 12.1:1 static) in a 95 Civic.

So anyways, what radiators are popular with Civic's? Are there some dual core's ?

Go to any parts store and buy a radiator for a Civic - it will probably be the dual core from the Auto models.

Shit I have a little 1/2 width one on my D16Z6 in my EF. I just have the fan hooked to a switch so it runs all the time when the switch is on. Cools the car really well. Even in the mid 90's in Baltimore Beltway traffic no problems. May be a better idea to just hard wire it though. I left the fan off the other day cause I kinda forgot I had it off. Went up over the hot mark, but no real problems since *fingers crossed.

You might want to look into an aftermarket fan... Something that pushes a little more air... Redline's "Water Wetter" works well too..

Yeah he's right too, my fan isn't stock and it really sucks a LOT more air than the stock one did.

Interesting... does the stock fan just not move much air?

I don't know, about not moving much air, but my aftermarket one has 5 blades and spins like 3x faster tham the stock one did so it moves A LOT of air.
