I dont see any real place to post this so I figue here is alright( mods go ahead and move if its not)
I want to upgrade my 96 dx stock brakes. I figuered a new set of pads and some stainless steel brake lines would suffice! But my friend, who always over thinks things says go GSR brake swap and be done. I've looked and GSR brake set-ups cost around 300+ pads and ss lines are like 150 maybe! What should I do?

Also would putting crossed drilled or slotted rotors on do any good?

DD? Drag race? Road course? Basically, what's the car used for?

first brake upgrade should always be the pads. then lines. next would be rotors. if stopping power is still not up to par then upgrade to bigger things.
right now on my dd i am running powerslot slotted rotors and aem pads. although aem seems not to think they have any pads to fit my 98 lx. i can't remember which pads i orders but they fit fine, i'll go check and post back up

oh and cross drilled and sloted rotors really only help to cool the rotor down. there are many people that argue for and against these kinds of rotors. personally i like mine. i think they do help cool down the brakes, but they also wear my pads out quicker than normal. now off to see what pads i have awaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy

Thank you! I guess I'll be ordering new SS lines then. And the AEM# thanks for that, next set of pads=AEM
