View Full Version : Removing DOHC V-tec stickers..

Hello everyone. My brother is a jackass and put DOHC V-TEC stickers on his 1996 Civic DX coupe (jackass i know..) and ontop paid honda for the chrome sir emblem for the back..

i bought the dx off him.. I took off the sir emblem but i am not quite sure how to take off the sir stickers without damage the paint at all.. if someone can help me please do!!

hairdryer on low/meduim to loosen the adhesive, then goo gone or WD40 to get the residue off the paint.

like bone said with the hairdryer. if you are real careful, you can use a very sharp flat razor to assist, but that can be difficult. as for residue i always used a quick brushing of paint thinner. if your paint is good the thinner wont hurt it. then if any rub marks or such are left give it a good buff. id have both stickers off in five minutes. lol pays to be a detailer for three years

i use babyoil to take stickers off. the oil absorbs in the sticker and it should peel right off, depending on how long you wait.

got it off! used a hair dryer on it for about 30 seconds and then pealed it off. it left some of the adhesive but i just put some wd40 on a cloth and rubbed it lightly till it came off. didn't leave any marks or scratches!!

wd40 did a good job.. and smelt terrible... but my whole car smelt like goodness anyways when i washed it after to get the crap off lol. :)
