Id be willing to bet it will all interchange...let us know what you find!

your fucked.

If you trashed the 3rd gear synchro, you've ruined the slider. I just spent a week filing and reshaping one to reuse it.

The slot on the slider is wider for the 3-4 steel shifter fork setup. I had a spare Y7 tranny here I was gonna use for parts, it was wasted even worse.

The gearset and synchro will interchange, but with a bad slider, your shit out of luck.

Read my rant in 96-00 vs 92-95 Poll.

Like Transzex said, the collar/slider shift fork groove on the 92-95 is much narrower than the groove on the 96-00. So... if you put in your 93 3/4 gearset you'll need to put in your 93 sleeve/slider which means you'll need to use your 93 shift forks. The 92-95 forks look completely different from the 96-00 forks...

I have ground the shift fork in more than one 6th gen tranny to accept the 5th gen 3rd Synchro Sleeve. It has worked every time.

How much did you have to cut it down?

Did you cut on both sides?

Belt sander :)

Hmm, so that brings us to the question - are same-gear sleeves in 92-95 and 96-00 D-Trannies the same in other dimensions? (number of teeth, diameter, width...)

Good info here.

yes, that is how Jim used them, the hubs are identical, have the 3 gear notch to prevent overtravel.
