Value of OEM Lights

Just wondering that my 99 Ex headlights and tail lights are worth. I polished my headlights with the info from here and they are straight sex and the tail lights are prestine as well, for being eight years old?

the taillights would probably net you more in perspective to the headlights because the taillights will fit on any same model civic from 96-00 and many guys like the 99-00 tails for the red/clear look (no ugly orange signal section). unfortunately, honda made the headlights on the 99-00s specific to those years and will not work on the 96-98 models.

it's hard to say tho what they're worth. it all depends on who the buyer is and how badly the person needs them.

Oem 99-00 headlights should sell for about 150tops on ebay. I would say 100 for the tails. You can buy the knockoff headlights for about 125 and tail for about 60 on ebay.

I know, I got the projectors for the front and love em, I have held onto the OEM's for a couple of weeks and feel it is a safe move to let em go. I am doing this build with a very limited budget so I may have to make some sacrifices along the way, just like most of you all do.

the 99-00 headlights will fit a 96-98, but you have to change the grill, bumper, hood, and fenders

I was thinking of puting the Avenger front end / bumper cover. I have some aftermarket fenders that I reworked and am actually happy with. They are old F-1's that I modified to be different.

I have been battelingthe OEm with a lip verses the Avenger front end....but I like the avenger, it looks good to me.

Thoughts?

i say oem man. i hate every single body kit made for the egs. sometimes there are some kits that ek's can pull off but egs every single one is ugly. thats why i stuck with my oem bumper with mugen front lip and ek side skirts..keep it simple yet sexy...then again im not a fan of halo's either. id rather have oem black housings....

i just havent found a clean body kit for a 92-95 civic...all the clean cars ive seen are all oem with lips...i think ive seen one with a c west kit..and one with a buddy club kit but i like the quality of oem. u dont have to worry about it chipping or cracking or anything...oem FTW!

i also love the look of the complete kit for 97-04 dakota, especially the side exhaust

yea i def dont like it. i mean its all personal preference..build ur car how YOU want it. i dont like big open scoops and flashy graphics or altezzas and huge wings.. i like clean simple and sleek! oem lips, maybe a duckbill and cf hood, hatch is how my cars gonna be. i think oem bumper and some sort of lip would be great.. look at watisjdm's car...his is clean as hell! i like that look. just my opinion!

Yeah, I am not a real big fan of kits either, but I am not building a race car, mine is going to be strictly show, (Car Audio) so I am just making it a little flashy.

My thoughts are that front, some custom skirts and a jdm rear lip.
The rubber mouldings are comming off with a CF hood, no wing. All badges will be gone as will the antenna. Actually the front will be the most dramatic.

Oh, no graphics just a solid color. I like clean as well and think I can still pull it off with that front, but hey I asked. Do you still hate it with the mods I just listed?

i just dont like body kits. thats just me tho. i think if its gonna be a show car those huge body kits were back in teh day...to me its more of a sleek look to a show car now days. that body kit doesnt go with the body lines at all and it looks like a snow plow or like its gonna eat u!

unless the front bumper cover is urethane, once you hit a fiberglass one and feel the anguish as you stare down at the small but soon to be growing crack in it, you'll understand why oem with a lip is a good way to go.

i say keep the oem front bumper and get a nice urethane front lip for it. stick with wings west or some other reputable company and make sure it's flexible so it can take a hit or two and bounce back.

i'd very much rather REPAINT a front lip and/or bumper than REPLACE one :roll:

also be careful of the cheaper abs hard plastic lips as well. in colder weather they get brittle and are more prone to breakage. they're more durable than fiberglass by far but flexible urethane is always #1 choice if you want durability for your money :TU:

I agree, we did a 944 with glass and within a week it had cracks in the lip. Urathane all the way.

I still like the sniper kit (except the wing) but I guess I could save a lot of $$$$ keeping it factory. But I like the sniper, I may need some private time. lol

it's too bad you can't get the 96-98 kits to fit because they have a large selection of more oem-style lip kits available. the RS kit for the 96-98 coupe looks very nice :TU:

Like steve-o said, keep them. I had projectors on mine for awhile, then one day decided I wanted to go back to my fac ones. Glad I did, the projectors are never aimed right and no way to adjust them most of the time.
