I bought these glow in the dark white face gauges to replace the stock ones in my 5spd eg8 d15b7 and they just got here today. They will be shown here as I make progress on it. Also replacing the stock lights in instrument cluster with LED's I bought from Autolumination. The ac control bulbs too. Should be quite nice when finished. Peter

Probably would have been better to post the DIY after you did.

ModsH6civi - you mean like the one on your wire tuck? I busted my ass to get the after pics together so I could post them right away. I spent 90 minutes from start to finish. I disassembled my instrument cluster and then removed the gauges. It was easy. Three screws for each component and then they fall right out. Each face has two screws that hodld the face onto the component. Removed the two screws on the original faces and slid the new white face gauge covers right over the needles and into place. They are like a Timex Indiglo and have a wire on each one to route to the power lead.

The wiring was a little bit tricky. I took the three wire pairs for the faces and routed them underneath the faces and through the back of the speedo through an opening that was for a light which is not used on my vehicle.

After I got all of the faces just right and cleaned any fingerprints off, I reassembled the clear cover and pulled the wires taught through the back. The only mods I had to make to get the wires through the back of the speedo housing was to use a drill to open up the hole a little more so the wires would all pass through.

I connected it to a 12V battery from my cordless drill and it worked like a champ the first time. I took a series of photos to show the cluster assembled with the new white faces in place and then with the lights dimmed to show the cool look it now has with the switch turned on. I am going to pull a lead off of the cig lighter and install an inline fuse of 10A and then hide the switch out of site.

Next step is to install the red LED's when they arrive. Thanks for letting me post here. This total mod was about $35 in parts and shipping.

I used a red paint marker on my needle when I did my gauges. I like to be able to see it.

I appreciate all the feedback. If anyone has a question about anything I did I will gladly take the time to go over it with you. I have a webcam so I can "teleconference" with you on whatever. Peter

No more Roo tails for me thanks.

I installed the red bulbs I ordered from autolumination.com and they work great. I changed the original cluster out with an Si cluster and used my original speedo in the new cluster. I replaced the lights behind the A/C control unit and everything is black and red now. No more white faces, jus stock looking and red lights now. Even the ashtray is red now.

The bulbs from autolumination are about .99 each and the larger ones are twice that price. If you have T6.5 then yu need the larger size, I think it is #24. A few of the smaller ones too like the #94 are all you need.

Don't forget to thank them for offering these items. The LED's are a bit too large for the twist locks and therefore I used glass incandescent bulbs instead of the LED's. The triple super bright ED's work but the smaller single LED's are too big.
