i recently rebuilt a 93 dx hydro tranny. replaced all the seals, a shift fork, and
the shaft bearings. while i had the tranny out did the clutch, pressure plate, and throw out...bolted everything back together. it seemed fine for a week then 3rd started to grind when i was engaging it and would pop out when going around corners.

so i researched to find out if any one had the same problems.found a thread that said something along the lines of the intermediate shaft bearing couild be sliding out in the case of the tranny. and to fix this one would want to shank the bearing ... so i was wondering just what that meant? if anyone might happen to know. Or think of anything else that it could be, i would appreciate it alot .ive been battling this for awhile ...thanks yall.

the intermediate shaft cant fall out, its bolted to the block.
and DX trannys dont have intermediate shafts.

he means countershaft.......

The countershaft bearing backing effects 2nd gear, not third.

thank you for correcting me i did mean the countershaft....

well if it only effects 2nd gear then what could possibly be the problem with 3rd grinding, popping out ,and today i was driving and if i put it in 3rd while down shifting it grinds also...?

any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
