noob with desperate help

Ok like I had mentioned on the last post my D16Z6 broke down on me, I had my heart set on swapping to a D15B, but other members replied that I should stick with a D16Z6. Now I'm very consfused and have no idea what to get anymore. I heard that the D15B is better than a Z6 but then again people tell me to stick with a D16Z6, dont know why. (confused). And I have been searching and calling places to where to find a D16Z6 and I get answers that they are not available and that thre replacement in the SOHC ZC..is that true? (I need to get this straightened out). Where can I find a D16Z6 or should I just buy a SOHC ZC or D15B?

if you can't find the dohc ZC than the next best thing is the d16a6...don't waste money on the d15b...the d16 is damn close performance wise, and even tho dohc cam rocks, the sohc d's are actually quite respectable, and with an adjustable timing gear and moderate cam, you can have a ton of fun.

No he said his Z6 crapped out not his ZC. I say if at all possible stick with the Z6. What did happen to the original motor, is a rebuild outta the question?

I think when they told you a sohc ZC is the replacement they meant the 92-95 JDM sohc ZC.It has VTEC and i think its about the same as a d16Z6.Its the japanese version.But yeah like they said before ,can you rebuild your motor?If not get another like it and dont mess with the d15.

Whats wrong my D16Z6, It has a loud clacking sound that seems to be coming from the head. Everytime I turn on the car the clacking starts, and if I accelarate the clacking sounds becomes louder and faster...very annoying..Its not driveable, I have to move it every monday for the street sweeping. The motor already has approximately 200,000 miles so I dont want to spend more money on it, I rather swap to another D-series with 30,000-50,000 miles.

zc sohc vtec... or in the case of the one i bought, block stamp says just d16a but its vtec as well. talk to the guy at hmotorsonline.com its not on their site, but they carry it.

yea steve is a cool guy at hmotorsonline and he will def hook u up! he has good customer service and all his motors come clean!!
