I have a 1996 D16Y8 and i was wondering why the cover doesn't say VTEC. I see pictures of D16s all over that say Honda VTEC, and I really like them, but mine doesn't. I know it is the Y8, i've seen the cam and its 3 intake lobes. Guess what i'm asking is, am i supposed to have that cover, or if not, is there a good place to get one?

My 95 Si, EX in the States, has the VTEC valve cover. I think all 95 Si's have it.

I might be wrong but as far as i know from experience:

92-93 had just an H and the cover was Black wrinkle painted
94-95 had the Vtec written on it and were not painted
96+ had just HONDA written on it and were not painted

You are correct sir!!
IMO , why does it matter if it says vtec? You know what you have.......thats what matters.......right? Why replace a perfectly
good valve cover for one that says vtec on it :?

Well, mine's a little (ahem-Alot) corroded and looks like crap. It's seen too many winters with salt on the road.
