Here is a quick question. I have a 98 Civic EX with the D16Y8. Mods include, intake, 2.5 cat back, Skunk2 IM, MSD SCI, Blaster SS coil, and Red Cap with 8.5 mm wires. Which would be the best spark plug to run with this setup? I have Bosch Platinum 4s right now. These are the "gapless" plug and ever since I put them in, my car has been having issues with idle hickups and it has been missing in mid-range power (mostly in third gear around 2500-3500 rpms) I am beginning to think that these "gapless" plugs are garbage! A MSD tech suggested using a copper plug, so I have been looking at a NGK one but I cant find them anywhere:mad: Any suggestions?
the platinum 4s are crap for our cars. I would personally go with a standard ngk v power plug that is recommended for your car. ngk ZFR5F-11 are the plugs i would run.

the zfr5f-11 will work fine with the msd.
but i need to tell you the msd is not necessary the stock honda ignition system is more than adequate for up to atleast 400hp,
i will be honest ive got a 6a with a blaster 2 coil on my car that made/makes no difference in horsepower on the dyno or et at the race track

Yeah I am aware of this. My MSD was a gift from a friend, so it didnt cost me a dime, and I do local car shows and having it under the hood earns me a little extra points with the judges. So it never hurts to have it...

I have an MSD 6AL, Blaster 2 Coil, Clear Smoked MSD Modded Cap, Zex Triple Ground Plugs, and APC 9.3mm Wires...
Is this a good combination? I don't seem to have any trouble with it but if someone could tell me something better I am always for upgrading.

I've got a full MSD ignition kit with Denzo iridiums. It seems to work really good. Definetly on cold winter starts. I knew full well I was'nt going to get extra hp by adding it, I was just bored one day and wanted to add some extra engine bay bling.
I had the msd sci ignition with a blaster ss coil. after i removed it all, my car ran a lot better.

My car got a performance boost, the rpm increase was smoother, it made my exhaust a different sound when accelerating, it sounded cleaner. Stock parts may have been old. But I made sure to install the msd ignition "perfect" I crimped all the wires really tight and as short as possible but with as much wire on the crimps as possible.

I ran MSD 6AL becuase of nitrous......the MSD igntion limiter is "nicer" to hit the Honda fuel cut when boosting/spraying.
I only noticed one advantage, faster starts esp. below 40 degrees F.
I might reinstall it when I get the race car running, 14:1 compress and E85 105 octane, it would be a plus having the quicker starts. CRanking over a 14:1 motor is not easy on the OEM starter.

in my NGK's have always worked the best. I use them still in my race motors... If I remember right Bisi does too. So if he can run 9's with them , I think they will do just fine...

:TU: for NGKs, I run BKR6E-11 for winter time and BKR7E-11 for summer.
5 is definately too hot for tuned engine IMO, especially if compression is raised.
ATM I still have sixes and at warm/hot day (+20C) engine rattles/detonates very easily at medium load and low (<3k) revs.
Gonna get my new Accel 300+ wires today, and also install new BKR7E-11's too.
Finally I get rid of those noname el-cheapo wires, waiting to see if there's any difference lol 8)
