Nothing is really done to my motor yet, but I really want a cam... would it be worthwhile or is it gonna do absolutly nothing?

That's the exact number I made with a Crower Stage 2.

"Worth it" is relative. Look at the cost of the build per hp. You'll need the cam, valves, valvesprings, chrome/hondata, install costs (if applicable)....I wouldn't be suprized if you're close to $1,000 after all is done. Not that I'm advising against it, just costs alot for what it is.

If your car is like it is in the link in your sig, I'd go with an IM before! Y8 IM are cheap and it's said they are a good upgrade! I/H/E is a good start, remove the bottle necks before you play in valvetrain things!

get a cam(stage one), cam gear, and fpr....no need for ecu tuning..an hour on the dyno with this style set up on a stock d16y8 yeilded 127 hp, and 110 tq.

More info? That's a really high number compared to people with stage 2 and 3 cams...

I'll be boosting in about a month. Stage 2 was nice for a year or so.

Do you still have the Y7 in your del sol? We could start from there.

i don't think lower level cams are worth it at all...

you might want to try if anything a delta regrind, because they are so cheap...but the y7 is really a poor platform for a cam upgrade, esp with that intake manifold, intake and stock exhaust manifold!

i'd rather see you get a maybe a vtec head w/ a p28 & blox intake mani, nice "cold air" intake, nice header and appropriate exhaust to match. if you want to boost later, fine, you can sell the good stuff easily.

btw, I can't e-stalk you on myspace because you are private!

If you're gonna change cams, have every bolt-on you can get first. I swapped heads for one that has mild port work, crower stg 2 cam and valvetrain and got 127whp with a stock ecu and just a VAFC.

Cams need headwork to be able to really breathe, but in the mean time, have a good bit of other shit done before you start opening the head up.
