I was about to cut the top off too, but they might want the virginia part there, not sure how legal/illegal this is.

nice i had a buddy who just cut out the numbers on the front plate. in california you dont have the tags for the date on the front plate. only the back...

In MD it's a $50.00 dollar fine for destruction of state property and they'll make you pay to get new tags... looks good though.

I actually thought about getting my licence number printed out on vynil stickers. Would look really clean. Not sure if the cops would let that pass or not, but its better than nothing right?

Toddnos

highly illegal

kyle h.
05-22-2007, 10:34 AM
highly unnoticeable

Toddnos

its noticeable...imo,,its not worth getting pulled over for a lisence plate mod, so they can have me pop my hood and discover an illegal motor swap...like dangling shit from your rearview mirror...your just asking for trouble.

When I got my gsxr it had a plate like that on it. I didn't understand why anybody would do that. Still dont really. I guess if your area has reasonable cops its ok.

looks good.

me pop my hood and discover an illegal motor swap...

he is in va. the only thing illegal here (when dealing with swaps) is the exhaust pipe has to exit the engine bay. oh and it has to have a cat for cars that came with one. some areas smog, but the same rules apply.

had my car registered in va, they rejected it the second time. no wastegate dump pipe

gotta be on the side with zip-ties! looks good, i just put my front plate in my front window and havent had any problems here in NY that is beyond unsafe, wonder where that thig will end up if you are in a head on collision..... but there is a law here in va, for that and they do inforce it (at least in south east va). it is only a 30 dollar ticket and it is not a primary offence, so they have to get you for something primary first (speeding/racing/excessive excelleration/etc.). but each state is different, on its requirements.

In Northern Va and near Richmond area they'll pull you over for not having the plate on the bumper. I got pulled over a while back had the plate in the front windsheild. I had a good excuse for not having it on the bumper, but he wrote me up a warning. that is the only area of the car that they know they can hit with radar I guess.

w00t, I got a no front plate ticket on my range rover... MP gave it to me when I was entering Quantico...lameness, going to be taking it to court soon.

Todd, I don't live in a country like you, where engine swaps are illegal.

In hindsight I should have just bent the tag. But yea, this is less noticeable than putting it in your window like most others do.

I'm sure they'll find something else to arrest me for, if not my tags. They can do whatever they want.

did this a long time ago so it would fit in the grill area.

finally came off my car one day (stupid harbor freight zip ties!)

now I just rock it stock. I already break enuff laws. I'm not trying to give the fuzz any more reason to look at me.
