ZC trans(hydro)

I have a ZC trans(i think it is hydro). it says ZC etched on it. A friend of mine gave it to me about 2 years ago. I don't know if it's any good, been sitting in my backyard for ages. I literally forgot about it until today(i cleaned my backyard, found lots of junk).

reading transmission gearing ratios confuses the crap out of me.

1. Could i use the gears(if still good) and use them in a cable trans?
2. Should I just sell it off, and pick up a cable trans(EX/Si/ZC)?

Any and all explanations/suggestions will be appreciated.

Cable tranny already has the better gearing.

Good luck selling it, esp. if it uses the larger axles.

A000 is the dx/lx etc tranny. geared long, good for highway, bad for racing and acceleration. not worth much money either- i use mine as a temporary replacement lol. s20 means its a 92-95. and it is a hydro. good job on at least taking pics of it though. rep for that since it sometimes makes all the difference.

thanks. i guess i will chuck it to the junkyard or find someone locally who needs a transmission. is there any way to tell what cable transmission between models?(i.e. crx si, civic si, civic ex) just read through a lot of posts on the stickies, and understand the A or B part, just wanted to differentiate between the others.

some sites/post i read they have slight differences in ratio's. jdm/usdm ect.

is there a way to tell which tranny you get besides a or b. for example. sedan ex tranny vs. Si tranny? is the bearing visible.

Cable 90-91 EX = A case, small bearing.

i have a DOHC ZC S20 tranny, and a Cable LS DOHC ZC tranny

it's hydo trans. not a zc i assumed it was i just wanted to verify which i was corrected. when i got this trans from a old friend of mine. he bought it thinking it as a ZC trans, but it was a vx/dx/lx. he switched to B-series, and gave me the motor/trans ect for helping him.

I am going to use this trans to learn how to mess with transmissions.
