Vtec solenoid is on the left of the head behind the dizzy ....the thing in the yellow square looks to be a part of the cruise control system

That's a VTEC head but not a Z6 valve cover. Cover may have been changed but I'd ask again to be sure of what your getting.

Your eyes must be better than mine, I can't see a VTEC solenoid.

yeah the valve cover on the one I'm getting says honda vtec. I thought the solenoid was on the left side, I guess I just didn't look really hard when I was checking it out. I want to get everything I need off of it but I don't know what exactly I can use. It has the head, cover, intake mani., throttlebody, exhaust mani., and engine harness. Do I really need the full harness? It doesn't come with the distributor or spark plug wires but could I use my distributor and buy new wires?

i paid 150 for mine, it was the z6 head complete with all the sensors, injectors, dizzy, valve cover, intake mini, trottle body the whole package. But youll also need a p28 ecu, obdo to obd1 adapter, dizzy clips, ans an adj. cam gear.

I've been reading up on the z6 exhaust manifold and how restrictive it is. So I'm thinking I might use a y8 manifold, that is if it fits. I'm looking to go today and pick it up. I'm excited =)

Yes, it fits. I might even have one lying around once you get 65 posts. ;)
Really though, get an after-market one unless you want the stock look. :TU:

as for right now, looks don't really matter. I have the chance to get either one, so obviously I should get the y8 for performance reasons.

I wouldn't pay more for the y8 than I would the z6... They're both stock.
