I'm not a LP fan, my son is.......

but with less screaming, the music is more tolerable.

I never like thrash metal in the 80's-90's because of the screaming.......

You guys are funny if you think LP was heavy or death metal, ever.

The new album is great for what it is, meaning if you dont attempt to compare it to their first album, it is indeed inspiring and new. I rather have a band create new, fresh music, than produce cookie-cutter albums. Thats exactly what this album is, fresh, but it is also still LP. If you listen to it enough and not be closed minded, LP is there in every song.

BTW Chester still screams in a decent amount of songs, perhaps you guys aren't listening past the slow parts of the song.

It a great album, musically and lyrically. You just have to keep listening to it.

So far, I agree. I've had it on repeat for a couple days now & each time it gets a little better. I'm definitely more partial to their previous stuff (ReAnimation FTW!), but this is growing on me...

at first I was like is this actually LP.
Sounded good none the less.

Doesn't seem to me like they went and sold out like green day. Well Green day will always suck old and new.

I've loved Linkin Park since they came out, but this album i'm not so sure about. Seems like I'll just have to keep listening...

picked it up yesterday. it is definately different than the other stuff they have put out. I have liked everything they have put out (not so much the jay z stuff) I am glad they are not cookie cutter albums.

I am thinking because people think they "sold out" or whatever. There is nothing wrong with trying new things.

Whoever picks up the album be sure to read the info in the booklet. Gives some great insight into their goals for the album, and some fun facts about each song. Worth the read!

They got Rick Rubin to produce this album. From what I read they wanted to try something new, because the era of rap rock ie. Limp Bizkit. Is not so much in demand anymore.

I can shell $9.53 for a new cd that comes in a pretty case, shinny cd, usually a well done booklet that includes lyrics and other useless facts.

I dunno, its just me, especially if its something I want I buy the CD. Not saying free music sucks. I like the "whole package," not to mention I have over 300 Cd's in my collection.
