I have to drop a dx trans in my car cause no shop around here can figure out whats wrong with the si trans. Will i feel a huge loss in acceleration when swapping to the dx trans from my si. Its not REAL important i am just curious of what other have expierienced.

You will notice a drop in acceleration but its not like your cars going to be horribly slow

cool thanks, hopefully i can find out what the fuck is going on with my si trans soon. Its got all new bearings, syncros, 1-2 3-4 forks and new seals, but I cant find anyone who wants to work on it

well, I broke 2nd gear fork to start and had 1,2,3, forks all replaced, along with the syncros and bearings and seals. I got the trans back from the shop i had do the work and i installed it. The trans sounded like shit and didnt go into 5th. I brought the trans back and the main bearing was making the noise and they said they adjusted something (sounds like bullshit) inside and then it went into 5th fine. I drove the car for about an hour and a half, and i started having trouble getting into 4th and then 5th. I came to a light and the tranny was stuck in 5th, i was stuck for an hour before i was able to pop it out of 5th. at that point i had no 5th at all and it would go into 4th but as soon as i released the clutch it would make an awful grinding noise and pop out of gear. I will say 1st 2nd and 3rd sound great and shift smooth. but the tranny pops right out of 4th. and it feels like 5th isint even their

shoulda had Bone done the rebuild

sounds like a oiling issue, and was shimmed too tightly the first time.

I just finally swapped out my dx trans for the Si, im still breaking it in but i cheated a couple times to see the difference... I like it... (91 crx dx, multiport swap,si trans, intake.)

Your looking at about $300 for to just get started. Shipping alone will be $120 round trip....then parts and labor.....
