Heatsoak?

Wow, tough crowd. I assume any aftermarket parts on the car were salvaged from the CRX, so no need to be choads about it.

Heatsoak?

yeah when sitting at idle....i just figured id take some stuff from the crx thats all. I figured the lack of a pipe would be less metal to get hot. Filters are all rubber, no metal to hold as much heat. That and i dont wanna get a intake until i swap manifolds.

I dont see why ppl have problems with the coil wiring. Its not that hard.

The heats not a big deal. Its not like the engine bay has an air seal between it and the outside world.

True...I can understand where heatsoak can take place though. We see temps well into the 90's during the summer here in NC. I figure once the a/c is gone and any other unneeded engine bay clutter, ill make my own intake. What i really wanna do is a MPFI manifold swap with a header, ported head, aftermarket cam and some other things. Im gonna take it easy on the car for now though. I went through two engines in 5 weeks in the Rex and I dont wanna have another busted engine. I was really thinking of dropping a ZC in it. It runs fairly well now. Ive removed the tandem throttle plate, and had the exhaust reworked a little. If i could just figure out what the hell is vibrating under the car when i accelerate id be happy. Hey to only have 300 bones in the car im doing good. I had over 3000 in the Crx and its lil 12 valve ass died twice. :honda:

See i dont have a cat.....enviromental nazis can back off. Im thinking its gotta be one of those heat sheilds under there though. Probally somewhere near the back where the pipe takes the 90* just before the axle. Im gonna replace the rubber hangers with urathane ones and hopefully thatll help.

Since ive decided theres nothing wrong with the current engine in the car even though its dual point. Im gonna keep it intil it blows or breaks. I wanna see how well it can do without a multiport swap. I made a few mods to the dual point black box today... I got rid of everything inside that i thought could prohibit air flow. A few pics.....

I also had time to play around with my gauges....i was able to keep the stock red template in the cluster but removed the black print on it with nail polish remover. It has hot spots which i dont like but its better than it was.

I know its nothing new but thought id share. I learned t here so why not. Well I dont know about the dual point box, but im sure its been done before.

I cant use because of where the coil is. Im gonna put a small battery where the airbox used to sit, then turn the intake and bring it foward. Yes the small filter is a bypass for a cold intake. i though id throw it on to induce better air flow. Plus should water fly up on the main filter the smaller one will suck more air. Not suckin water up.

Just relocate your battery or your coil and put the stock intake back on. It looks a lot better and I'm sure your car will perform better when compared to having just the filter on the TB.

get a goddamn intake n00b....

if he's planning on boost don't waste money on an intake. plus it won't clear your little distributor setup. do something about that exhaust. looks like the diameter of a straw.

i agree. my sedan is a little piggy, even after the MPFI swap AND OBD1/D15B vtec swap. it just needs some PSI motivation:beer:
