My car has been making noise from the transmission for a while now. It makes a whirring/light grinding noise when the clutch is out, so i figure this is either the the pilot bearing. It also squeaks when I let the clutch out to get going. I figured this was the throwout bearing. Am I correct in these guesses?

Also the other day at autocross my car popped out of 2nd gear twice. Once was coming out of a hairpin when getting on the gas, and the second time was on the banking of the track we were running at. I would be either on the gas or getting on the gas and the car reacted like I had put the clutch in, with the rpms jumping like i was revving the engine. The shifter would be in neutral when I would go to put it back in gear.
I talked to my brother about it and he was pretty much stumped as to what it could be.
Any ideas on what the problem could be?
I plan on replacing the clutch, all the bearings and having the flywheel resurfaced, sometime this summer when money starts coming in.

Thanks

input shaft bearing going bad and countershaft bearing walked out of the case a little, very common.

Wrong corner of the state :(

Thanks, will it hurt the tranny to do more autocross before I fix everything?
I don't want to make things worse than they are now, but if it's not a problem I'll still run it.

Are those bearings normal to replace when redoing a clutch?
And also will lightening the flywheel give me any real advantage? I know if you go too light its hard to keep normal drivability, but will a flywheel thats a couple pounds lighter hurt this?
If it's not any real help I'll just get mine resurfaced when i do the clutch.

Thanks
